RENO, Nev. — Silver Legacy Resort Casino presents multi-platinum hard rock band, Staind featuring special guest Hoobastank at the Downtown Reno Ballroom, Saturday, May 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets to see both rock bands are available for $55, general admission.
Staind fans will rock out to hits from the new album, The Illusion of Progress, which debuted on Billboard’s Top 200 at No. 3. The Illusion of Progress is the fourth consecutive album of Staind’s career to debut in the top 3. The band recently performed a special acoustic version of their new hit single “All I Want” on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
The Illusion of Progress is Staind’s sixth album and the follow-up to 2005’s certified platinum Chapter V. Over the course of the past decade, Staind has sold more than 12 million records worldwide. The band has had four #1 singles that span three different radio formats, including two massive crossover singles, “It’s Been Awhile” and “Right Here.”
Staind’s major label debut Dysfunction went double platinum in 1999 and the band’s Break The Cycle was certified 5x platinum. Other platinum albums include 14 Shades of Grey and Chapter V. The band release an MTV Unplugged album in 2002 a compilation album, The Singles: 1996-2006, in 2006.
Opener, Hoobastank will perform hits like “My Turn” from the band’s fourth album, Fornever, as well as other hits "Crawling in the Dark" and "Running Away." Fans have noted Fornever for its in-your-face aggression and multi-layered songs. With Fornever, Hoobastank has gotten in touch with what originally motivated the band.
Hoobastank’s self-titled debut album is certified platinum-plus and The Reason sold two-million-plus copies. The Reason earned three Grammy® nominations, including Best Rock Album as well as Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group for the title track. The band’s most popular single, The Reason, became an international smash, hitting #1 at Modern Rock, Adult Top 40 and Top 40 Mainstream Radio and #2 on the Hot 100.
