Silver Legacy To Host Vietnamese Concert

RENO, Nev. (January 21, 2009) – Silver Legacy Resort Casino proudly welcomes well-known Vietnamese artists including Nhu Quynh, The Son, Y Lan, Trish Thuy Trang and Nguyen Hung on February 15 at 8 p.m. in the Grande Exposition Hall.
In the past few years, Nhu Quynh's stellar climb to the top of the Vietnamese music industry has set her apart from many of her contemporaries. Today, Nhu Quynh is a mega star in the Vietnamese music circle with her own record label and a hit album.
The Son began singing professionally in 1987 and graduated from the National Musical Arts Institute in Saigon. Besides being well known for his singing, The Son is also an accomplished guitarist who likes a variety of music including the pre-war period, romantic ballads, modern music, as well as western classical music. He thinks that each type of music has its own brand of uniqueness and each brings to the listeners a different feeling depending on their state of mind. His albums include: Tinh Thu Cua Linh and Nhung Chieu Khong Co Em. His next project is an album titled, Tim Nhau Trong Ky Niem.
Y Lan is the daughter of Vietnam's most prolific singer, Thai Thanh and her father is Vietnam's film star Le Quynh. Although she was born into an artistic family, Y Lan did not start singing professionally until a few years ago. According to Y Lan, she was encouraged to pursue education instead of the arts while growing up in Vietnam.
Y Lan became a phenomenal success in a relatively short time compared to other stars of the same status. Since her debut, Y Lan has recorded many albums and has performed in many videos. She collaborated with Thuy Nga productions in many of their Paris by Night series.
Ever since Trish Thuy Trang’s debut in Asia Entertainment videos, the face of Vietnamese pop has never been quite the same. Not only has Trang made an incredible impact on Asia, but she has almost single-handedly helped to define a new generation of Vietnamese pop music. With her fresh-faced looks, ever-evolving unique sense of style and soothing distinctive voice, Trang has reached fans far and wide. Hailed for her amazing songwriting talent and ability to write catchy pop songs, Trang has brought true talent, style and originality to the Vietnamese music scene.
Nguyen Hung is one of those artists who brought to the music video industry a standard that all artists now have to meet. He is able to combine his talent as a professional dancer and singer to perform and choreograph in many of his appearances in Thuy Nga Productions.
In the years after the fall of Saigon, Nguyen Hung continued his professional involvement with Doc Lap circus troupe, Bong Sen 2 theater group, and several nightclubs in Saigon. During this period, Nguyen Hung was often the backup vocalist for other artists and to date as performed in more than 20 videos, and completed seven albums.
