Jeff Dunham
Saturday, February 13 at 8:00 PM
Reno Events Center

Ticket Prices - $59

There are many sides to the comedic genius of Jeff Dunham, who has risen in recent years to become a genuine entertainment phenomenon with an international 360-degree reach that includes record-breaking television specials, staggering DVD sales of over 4 million (and rapidly counting), 360 million views on YouTube, a current international tour expected to gross $45 million, his own merchandise company and a publishing deal that will see the publication of his first book in 2009. Time Magazine calls Dunham "the most popular stand-up comedian in the U.S." His widespread fame has led Dunham to sign a multi-platform deal with Comedy Central to encompass all areas of entertainment, including television, DVDs, a stand-up special, a consumer products partnership and 60-city Comedy Central Live stand-up tour.

It's all because Jeff Dunham is not just one of the funniest humans on the planet but the ringleader of a cast of comedic characters of his own creation like Walter the grumpy retiree; the beer-swilling, NASCAR-loving and resolutely redneck Bubba J; the furry and manic Peanut; Jose Jalapeno, the spicy pepper from south of the border; and the bumbling, skeletal Achmed the Dead Terrorist. Taking his cues from the stuff of everyday life, people he and we all know and the world around us, Dunham invests his suitcase posse of sidekicks with such believable and lovable personality as they banter, quip and interact that audiences frequently forget that the characters are crafted by Dunham's own hand and comedic brilliance.

David Garrett
Saturday, February 27 at 8:00 PM
Grande Exposition Hall

Ticket Prices - $45 and 30

“David Garrett is already the stuff of legend – in him is enshrined an entire corpus of virtuoso violin art, expounded with a fearsome beauty beyond comprehension” BBC Music Magazine.
By the time he was thirteen years old, when most of his peers were whiling away their afternoons on their new PlayStations, the virtuoso violinist David Garrett had a classical music career that would make most artists of any age pea-green with envy. David has carved out a unique and wholly new artistic path, one that pays as much homage to Metallica as to Mozart. David Garrett is already a huge star in Europe, as well as the Far East. Now, he’s set to conquer a whole new terrain with his first American release, simply entitled, David Garrett.
You know you’re in for a different kind of violin experience as soon as you hear David’s cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal.” Other influences on David include Queen (”the first non-classical album I ever bought was A Night at the Opera,” the violinist recalls). The band’s ballad “Who Wants to Live Forever” makes its way onto David Garrett, as does AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck.” The violinist draws on a fantastic array of other stylistic inspirations. “He’s a Pirate” was taken from the score for the smash film franchise “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” makes an appearance as well; it’s been a longtime favorite which David always used first as a backstage warm-up before performances, and then as a staple in his dynamic live shows.

The lauded conductor and Kennedy Center Honoree Zubin Mehta put it best when he said, “David Garrett is surely going to have a resounding presence on the music world of the 21st century.”

Collective Soul gained a special place in the hearts of music lovers when they burst onto the scene in 1993 with the rock anthem “Shine.” It’s hard to imagine that the band has been making music for nearly 2 decades since then. What inspires a multi-platinum band with a catalog of #1 hit singles to keep going? It’s quite simple: the love of the music. While it would have been easy for the members of Collective Soul – Ed Roland, Dean Roland, Will Turpin and Joel Kosche - to rest on their laurels, the passion they feel just keeps coming, after years of touring together, with hit after successive hit, Collective Soul is as focused as ever.
